Apple WWDC: Huge price drops ahead of new product launches, iOS 17 and WatchOS 10 updates

The next major tech launches for 2023 are imminent as giant Apple is set to host its World Wild Developers Conference event tonight in California. As new products are being line-up to launch this Summer and into the Autumn prices on existing models are expected to drop.

The event can be streamed live in the UK from 6 pm today (Monday, June 5) where it's expected to outline details of the expected new iOS17 software, updates to its Apple MAC products and launch a brand new product entirely. Changes to new iPhones are also to be expected, although not officially confirmed, ahead of the rumoured iPhone 15 launch this September 2023.

The biggest rumour of all points towards a new VR headset, set to rival the iPhone and be a top contender product for avid tech users especially in the gaming world. The Mirror Online will be live at the event to bring all the updates as the tech firm announced a host of new updates, in the meantime we've rounded the latest Apple deals for those looking to upgrade their tech and get a saving.

As with any major tech launch, the announcement of new products is likely to push the prices of current models down, as it's no longer the 'next best thing' to buy. Here on Mirror Tech, we saw that with last year's launch of the iPhone 14 and the recent surprise launch of the yellow iPhone 14 this March 2023.

Before the September 2022 launch of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro providers including, Currys and O2 offered a line-up of price deductions on the iPhone 13 handset. Just days after Apple revealed its latest iPhone 14 yellow update, Sky launched a saving on the iPhone 14 Pro model, giving shoppers more than £400 off.

Rumoured 16-inch MacBook Air and latest deals on 2022 M1 and M2 models

A highly rumoured new product is an updated 15-inch version of the Macbook Air, although tech users will have to wait for confirmation from Apple this evening. The current newest Macbook Air was released slightly later this time last year, on July 22.

In 2022 Apple released an updated model of the laptop with an M2 chip model. Ahead of the newer update, it can now be found slightly cheaper at Curry's, Amazon and John Lewis.

The older 2020 MacBook Air model, with a small M1 chip, is even cheaper to get hold of, Amazon currently has one of the cheapest prices at £854 as opposed to the £949 price at John Lewis.

What we know about the new WatchOS 10 and deals on Series 8 models

Along with the iPhone 14 and MacBook Air M2 models, Apple also released the Apple Watch Series 8 at its 2022 Far Out Event, another section of the brand's tech products which is rumoured to be updated in today's WWDC event.

Suspected new features in line with the unconfirmed Apple Watch OS 10 are said to be widget based instead of the health app-based features models currently have. The software unveiled at the event today, if so, will give users an idea of what the next latest Apple Watch will perform like.

Currently, any watch from the Apple Watch Series 5 is exepected to be compatible with another software upgrade, the Apple Watch Series 4 can run off the current Watch OS 9 too.

Recent Apple Watch Series 8 and the Apple Watch Ultra are expected to be compatible with the latest new features, any tech shopper looking for a new watch and a saving could keep an eye out for deals.

You can watch the launch, live, on the Apple UK website.
