Apple Watch Series 11: Key upgrades
These are the biggest upgrades that set the new Apple Watch Series 11 apart from last year's Apple Watch Series 10.
Apple Watch Series 11 upgrade #1: Hypertension alerts

The Apple Watch Series 11 is the brand's first model with alerts for high blood pressure. Given that hypertension is the cause of roughly 10.8 million preventable deaths annually, according to the World Health Organization, this is a big deal.
Like sleep apnea, you'll need to wear the watch for a while (30 days) before it gets a sense of your blood pressure baseline. Ultimately, this new tool could lead to users seeking medical help for a condition they may not otherwise have been aware of.
It's worth noting that Apple is still seeking FDA clearance for hypertension alerts. However, it sounds like that should be coming later this month. Ultimately, Apple expects to roll it out in 150 countries, and within its first year, Cupertino is expecting hypertension alerts to tip off as many as one million users to potentially high blood pressure.
Apple Watch Series 11 upgrade #2: 24 hours of battery life
The Apple Watch Series 11 is the first Apple Watch in the flagship series to crack the 18-hour battery life mark, with a rating of 24 hours of life per charge. This is a very big deal.
Meanwhile, in low-power mode, the Series 11 is rated for 38 hours of use, an increase of only two hours over the Series 10.
Apple Watch Series 11 upgrade #3: Daily sleep score

Apple is finally joining the competition and offering users a daily sleep score out of 100 based on sleep quality, duration, sleep cycles, and more. This is something Apple users have been requesting for a long time. Now, we just need a daily energy score.
Apple Watch Series 11 upgrade #4: A tougher display
Apple beefed up the scratch resistance of the screen on the Series 11, making it twice as resilient as the Series 10. Apple achieved this using a cutting-edge new manufacturing process that incorporates a ceramic coating, for extra toughness.
That said, the panel beneath the fancy new protective glass is the same as last year's model. Max brightness is still 2,000 nits, the same as the Series 10, and the pixel density is still 326 ppi.
Apple Watch Series 11 upgrade #5: 5G connectivity
As expected, Apple improved cellular connectivity on the Series 11 with a move to 5G. This should result in better coverage and less of a power drain when using cellular, thanks to superior efficiency compared to 4G.
