Apple Watch leaks BATTERY ACID on woman's arm leaving painful burn

A woman has been left with a nasty burn on her arm, which she claims is the result of battery acid leaking from her Apple Watch.

The woman, called Rosemeg, claims that the incident occurred while she was wearing her Apple Watch Series 3.

She tweeted an image of the injury, writing: “ Apple you suck! After owning an Apple 3 Watch for 2 months, the battery leaked acid, burnt my arm and ruined my watch cover.”

It remains unclear whether the battery acid started leaking as the result of damage to the watch.

Rosemeg added: “My local Apple store replaced the battery but refused to replace my cover. It was not an Apple product!

“Would it have exhausted your financial resources to replace my cover or even offer a small gift card for causing someone bodily harm? No more Apple products for me!!!”

While details on Rosemeg’s accident remain sparse, it isn’t an isolated incident.

Apple Watch Series 3 (Apple)

Last month, New Jersey resident, Gina Priano-Keyser, filed a proposed class action lawsuit against Apple, claiming that all Apple Watches up to and including Series 4 models are prone to a defect that results in the lithium-ion battery swelling and causing the screen to 'crack, shatter, or detach from the body' of the watch 'through no fault of the wearer, oftentimes only days or weeks after purchase.'

Ms Priano-Keyser claims that Apple either knew or should have known that the Apple Watch models were defective before selling them.

Her proposed lawsuit adds that Apple Watches pose 'a significant safety hazard to consumers', and that a 'number' have suffered 'cuts and burns' as a result.

Mirror Online has contacted Apple for comment.
