The company said that this year’s winners include developers from around the world whose apps and games were selected by its global App Store editorial team.

Best iPhone app
Apple gave the gong for best iPhone app to BeReal from the team at BeReal.
This app has shaken up social media worldwide by scrapping fake filters and giving you random times throughout the day to snap photos and post so friends get a more realistic view of your life.
Best iPad app
If you own an iPad then Apple reckons GoodNotes 5 is your best application.
This clever piece of software helps you jot down ideas, mark up PDFs and even transform your hand-drawn scrawls into geometrically perfect shapes.
Other winners
The best Mac App of the Year award went to MacFamilyTree 10.
This offers a wide range of options to capture and visualise your family history.
Other 2022 gong winners include Gentler Streak - which helps Apple Watch users hit their fitness goals – along with the games Apex Legends Mobile and Wylde Flowers.

The Apple App Store launched in 2008 and is home to 1.8 million apps.
It is visited by more than half a billion people each week across 175 regions.
The company said it is an engine of global economic growth, facilitating €621 billion in revenue during 2020 alone.
