Apple quietly launches Apple TV YouTube channel - and all the videos are ad-free

Apple has quietly launched a new YouTube channel dedicated to its Apple TV service.

The channel was launched on 12 April, and was first spotted by MacStories , despite there being no announcement about the launch from Apple itself.

This means that the channel currently only has 9,179 subscribers, compared to Apple’s main channel which boasts 8.6 million subscribers.

So far, Apple has uploaded 55 videos to the channel, including adverts for upcoming films, behind-the-scenes clips and interviews.

The new channel comes a few months ahead of the launch of Apple TV+ (Apple)

Interestingly, all of these videos are ad-free, which could be a tactic to drive viewers to the channel, rather than rival channels where film trailers have ads.

The videos also have comments disabled, meaning viewers are unable to critique the content directly on the platform.

The new channel comes a few months ahead of the launch of Apple TV+, Apple’s new streaming service featuring original TV programmes and films.

iPhone 11 leak appears to confirm Apple's final design - and one key feature

This is mentioned in the description for the YouTube channel, indicating that trailers and sneak-peeks for Apple TV+ content could be revealed on the channel.

We’ll have to wait and see what Apple has in store!
