Apple has unveiled an iPad Pro with a stylus – despite the fact that Steve Jobs famously criticised the technology almost a decade ago.
Tim Cook, who took over as CEO after Steve Jobs died in 2011, told the audience at the launch in San Francisco that the 12.9 inch tablet is the "biggest news in iPad since the iPad“.
He added that the screen resolution on the new iPad Pro will be better than that of a MacBook Pro, calling the improvement: "our vision of the future of personal computing".

But tech-heads were quick to point out that Mr Jobs had rejected styluses at the launch of the first iPhone in 2007, back when touchscreen phones were dependent on the pencil-like tools.
”If you see a stylus, they blew it,” said Mr Jobs.

“We’re gonna use a stylus? No. Who wants a stylus? You have to get them and put them away. Yuk! Nobody wants a stylus.”
“We’re gonna use the best pointing device in the world[…]we’re gonna use our fingers,” he said.

Within minutes, a YouTube video of the 2007 launch was flooded with people citing Mr Jobs’ comments, while others took to Twitter.
“Came to this after Apple just announced Apple Pencil,” said YouTube user Kris Tofer.
“Jobs would be crying now,” said another user called Rubenesk Kumaar.
