Apple will now come to your house to fix your iPhone.

The new service allows people to have their broken handsets fixed at their home, rather than having to head to an Apple Store or posting it to the company.

Users who can get the new service will see it listed when they book a repair on the Apple website, as first spotted by Macrumors.

In addition to the normal option, they will see the option for "onsite service", and the visit can be booked in. "In select locations, onsite service may be available," the message reads.

The visit can then be booked in the same way as organising any other repair.

Customers will pay an extra fee for the service, the company warns.

It is currently available in only six cities: San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Houston, and Dallas. It is also only available for a limited number of problems, with broken iPhone screens covered but not replacement iPhone batteries, or other devices.

The repairs are actually carried out by a company called Go Tech Services, rather than Apple itself. That company seems to only offer repairs through

Apple already offers a service called Applecare for Enterprise, which allows people to pay to have the company come and do repairs onsite. But that is limited to large companies, rather than individuals.
