Apple 'to launch redesigned AirPods with noise-cancellation by end of 2019'

Apple will launch two new AirPods models before the end of 2019 - including one featuring an "all-new form factor design", according to a new report.

Renound Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the redesigned AirPods will carry a "higher price" than the second-generation AirPods, which cost £159 with a standard charging case and £199 with a wireless charging case.

Apple will also release an updated version of the existing AirPods with the same pricing, MacRumours reports.

Kuo added that the "all-new design" of one of the new models "could boost the replacement demand and attract new users."

Creepy little-known Apple AirPods feature allows people to spy on you

He estimates AirPods shipments will reach 52 million units in 2019 and 75-85 million units in 2020.

A separate report in DigiTimes also claims the new AirPods will launch before the end of the year with a new design and a "noise-cancellation function".

Apple launched its second-generation AirPods last month, offering hands-free "Hey Siri" support and up to 50% more talk time compared to the original AirPods.

It also launched the new wireless charging case, which works with any Qi-compatible charging mat.

The case holds enough charge for 24 hours of listening time. Placing the AirPods in their case for just 15 minutes gives you 3 hours of listening time or 2 hours of talk time.
