Apple Arcade game subscription service launches to take on Google Stadia

Apple has announced that it's launching its own gaming service, called Apple Arcade.

The tech giant, who announced Apple Arcade at an event in California today, claims it's the world's first gaming service for mobile, desktop and home.

With a single subscription, you'll have access to over 100 new games, that aren't on any other mobile platform or service.

It will sit within the App Store, with new games added regularly, letting you try what you want, when you want.

Users can play across different devices, including iPhones, iPads and Macs.

All games will be available to play offline, meaning you can play even if you don't have an internet connection.

Thankfully, the games can't track any information about you, or how you play the games.

Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said: “The App Store is the world’s biggest and most successful game platform. Now we are going to take games even further with Apple Arcade, the first game subscription service for mobile, desktop and the living room.

Sonic Racing (Apple)

Apple is launching its own credit card - and it will PAY you to use it

"We are working with some of the most innovative game developers in the world to create over 100 new and exclusive games to play across iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV.

"Apple Arcade games will be great for families, respect user privacy and will not have ads or require any additional purchases. We think players of all ages are going to love Apple Arcade.”

During the event, Apple also gave a sneak peek at some of the games you can expect on Apple Arcade. This includes Frogger, Sonic Racing, and more.

The service will be available this autumn in over 150 countries around the world. Apple is yet to reveal the pricing for Apple Arcade.
