Apple has announced that its AirPods will now ‘magically’ switch over between Apple devices.
Users previously had to manually disconnect and reconnect when using their AirPods with different devices.
However, Apple unveiled during its WWDC 2020 event that the wireless earphones will finally switch automatically.
Several relieved users have taken to Twitter to express their delight at the news.
One user said: ‘You can finally swap between devices on airpods and my life just became a whole lot easier.”
Another added: “Contextually aware AirPods! Finally aware of which device you’re using? This is actually SO GOOD.
"I’m always amazed it wasn’t capable of working out which device you had in your hands.”
And one joked: “Alright we finally got automatic device switching on airpods, we can pack up WWDC now.”
Meanwhile, Apple also announced a new surround sound-like feature for AirPods Pro, called Spatial Audio.
Based on the position of your head, the AirPods Pro will alter the sound, making it feel like you’re listening in surround sound.
