Police are seeking the assistance of the public in an effort to trace a vulnerable man missing from the Shettleston area of Glasgow.

John Bowman, 50, was last seen on Torphin Crescent around 8:15pm on Thursday, January 30 and is believed to have access to a black Vauxhall Astra registration J14 HNB.

His family are growing increasingly concerned about his welfare.

He is described as white, 5 foot 7 inches tall, average build, bald with tattoos down both forearms.

When last seen he was wearing a grey knee length dressing gown however it is unknown what he is currently wearing. He often wears a beanie style hat and is not wearing the glasses shown in the image.

Sergeant Dominic McLeod said: "It is out of character for John not to be in touch with his family or to leave his dog and mobile phone at home.

"He has never gone missing before and is known to frequent the east end of Glasgow.

"If anyone has any information or believes they may have seen John or his vehicle, please contact police."

Anyone with any information is asked to call officers at Shettleston Police Office on the police non emergency number 101.
