Appeal to trace relatives after Pollokshields pensioner passes away

Police have launched an appeal to trace relatives after a pensioner from Pollokshields passed away.

Mildred Soutar, 86, died last Friday in Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Mildred previously lived in Melville Street in Pollokshields, and it's believed she may have a nephew who lives in the Pollok area.

A statement posted on the Greater Glasgow Police Division Facebook page today reads: "Police Service of Scotland is appealing for the assistance of the public in tracing relatives of a 86 year old female who recently died in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital of Glasgow.

"Mildred Soutar passed away within Queen Elizabeth University Hospital of Glasgow on Friday 13th December 2019.

"Mildred previously resided in Melville Street, Pollokshields

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

"It is believed that Mildred may have a nephew in the Pollok area.

"Anyone who has knowledge of Mildred Soutar’s relatives is asked to contact Constable Kenneth McKenna at the Administration department at London Road Police Office on 0141-532-4752."
