Appeal to help trace pair, 16, missing from Airdrie since weekend

Police have launched a public appeal to help to trace two teenagers who have been missing from Airdrie since the weekend.

Liam Kennedy and Courtney Semple, both 16, were last seen around 9 pm on Saturday night in Plains, Airdrie.

Liam is described as white, 6 ft 4 in height, of a slim build, with short brown hair and blue/grey eyes. He was wearing black 'Nike' trousers and a black padded jacket.

Courtney is 4 ft 8 in height, of slim build, with long brown hair, usually worn in a ponytail, and was wearing a grey hooded top, grey leggings and white trainers.

Sergeant James Lynch, Airdrie Police Station, said: "We understand that Liam and Courtney met up on Saturday night in Plains, then left the area together. At this time we don't know where they have gone but they're known to frequent Glasgow city centre, East Kilbride and Clydebank.

"Officers have been checking local CCTV from and also liaising with colleagues at British Transport Police, as well as local bus and taxi operators.

"Friends and family have been spoken to, however, so far no one has seen them since Saturday.

"They are only 16, so we need to make sure they are ok and ask that they get in touch with police or return home.

"If you have any information as to where they are, then please contact Airdrie Police Station via 101. Quote reference number 4405 of 31 October, 2020 when calling."
