It's not every day that you see a tortoise on the loose - after all, they're not exactly known for their stealth.
But a West Lothian woman was left astounded today (15 July) when she found a tortoise wandering the streets of Broxburn.
Amanda Gray told Edinburgh Live she found the tortoise on Almondell Road earlier this afternoon (July 15), just off a busy main street.
In a post on Facebook she appealed for help to find this little guy's/girl's rightful owners - who may not have even noticed they are missing a tortoise.
She said: "Just found this wee guy/girl crossing the road in Broxburn!
"I've dropped he/she off at the local vets. Please share, I'd be devastated if I lost this wee soul."
The post has already been shared over 100 times, with one writing: "Hope they find the owner."
The vet have now passed the tortoise on to SSPCA officers who will take the animal to one of their centres.
