Missing Irish League footballer Jude Winchester found

*Update* Jude has been found safe and well.

An appeal has been launched to find a missing Irish League footballer from Belfast.

The family of Ballymena United footballer Jude Winchester have launched an appeal after the 28-year-old went missing and they have been unable to contact him.

His brother took to social media to say: "If Anyone seen or heard from Jude Winchester let me know cheers."

It is understood that Jude drives a silver Volkswagon saloon with the registration MT12 MFA.

The car has been found in Newcastle's Donard Park.

People are being asked to contact the family as soon as possible if they have any information regarding the whereabouts of Jude or the car.

Winchester is a popular and well known Irish League player who has starred for both Cliftonville and Ballymena United in the Danske Bank Premiership.

The creative midfielder, who joined Ballymena from Cliftonville in 2018, featured for the Braid club as recently as Saturday when he starred in a 1-1 draw with Glenavon at the Showgrounds.

Afterwards, United boss David Jeffrey described Winchester as a “wonderful young man and a superb footballer”.

Earlier in his career, Winchester also played for Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.
