The Scottish SPCA are appealing to the public to find homes for some overlooked budgies in the care of their Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.
The charity is currently caring for 12 of the brightly coloured birds but unfortunately they have been overlooked.
Centre manager, Gillian Boyle, said, “We are currently trying to find homes for 12 beautiful budgies. We have a group of five birds, another group of six birds and one single bird, named Harry, looking for a home.

“Both of the larger groups have previously lived with other birds so would be happy to have some more feathered friends in an aviary or suitably sized cage. Harry seems inquisitive about other birds in the same room so could also possibly go on to live with other budgies after a proper introduction.
“Budgies are small birds but they more than make up for their size with a larger than life personality! We know these pairs will make a fantastic addition to any bird enthusiast’s home.”
