Police bid to find family of man, 39, found dead in Lanarkshire

An appeal has been made to trace the relatives of a man found dead in Airdrie.

39-year-old Robert James Smith died on November 19, with Police Scotland now looking to trace his family. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Motherwell police division.

Officers have confirmed that Robert previously lived in the Manchester area before moving to Lanarkshire, with his family still believed to reside there. 

A statement from the force reads: "We are looking to trace the next of kin of Robert James Smith (39) who died on 19th November 2020 within the Airdrie area of Lanarkshire.

"Robert previously resided in the Manchester area, and his family are still believed to reside there.

"If you have any information regarding next of kin please contact the Divisional Administration Support Unit, Motherwell Police Station on 101 and quote reference NAS0641120."
