Appeal launched to trace missing Easterhouse man

Police are appealing to trace a man reported missing from the Easterhouse area of the city.

Paul Docherty was last seen by his family around 7am yesterday morning. There was also a positive sighting of him around 2pm at The Lochs shopping centre (formerly The Shandwick Centre) later that day.

The 41-year-old works in the Charing Cross area and is known to travel by train to and from his workplace.

Paul is described as white, 6ft 3ins, of stocky build with black hair and a black, greying beard. He normally wears glasses. He was wearing a dark, waist length jacket, dark trousers, dark coloured shoes and carrying a backpack. He may also have a green New York Yankees baseball cap.

Sergeant Kevin Dougall said: “It is entirely out of character for Paul to go missing and we are eager to trace him as soon as possible. His family are worried about him and urge him to get in touch.

“We are making enquiries to trace Peter as soon as possible and would ask anyone who knows of his current whereabouts, or has any information about him, to contact Police Scotland immediately on 101, quoting incident 0088 of 8 October."
