Appeal launched to find vulnerable man missing from Rutherglen

Police are appealing to the public for assistance in tracing a vulnerable man missing from Rutherglen.

Simon Handlin, 40, has been missing from his home in Berwick Drive since Wednesday of this week(September 11).

Simon is described as white, 5 ft 7 in height, of medium build, receding brown hair, blue eyes and a scar above the eyebrows between his eyes.

He was wearing a black ‘Craghopper’ outdoor jacket, red/burgundy Parachute Regiment top, blue jeans and black trainers.

Sergeant Evelyn Struthers, Rutherglen Police Office, said: “Simon hasn’t been in touch with his family for a couple of days which causes us and his family concern.

"We don’t believe he has any money nor a mobile phone with him and none of his friends have seen or heard from him recently.

“We would ask anyone who has seen him since Wednesday or who may know where he is to contact police as soon as possible.

“We would also ask people, especially around his home and in the general Rutherglen area which is where he tends to keep to, look out for him when they can.

“Any information can be passed to Rutherglen Police Office. Please quote reference number 3322 of the 11 September 2019 when calling.”
