Appeal launched after train conductor was pushed over and sprayed with beer

Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to after a train conductor reported he was pushed over by a group of people and sprayed with beer.

The incident happened at around 5.20pm on September 28 on a train between Sheffield Midland and Retford stations.

British Transport Police have said a group of men were reportedly drunk and one man also urinated in the train carriage.

The group initially tried tripping the victim up then one of the men pushed him over, injuring the victim’s knee and shoulder, according to the BTP.

They then sprayed him with beer while he was on the floor.

Anyone who recognises the man in the image is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40, and quoting reference number 493 of September 28

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 40 50 40.
