Appeal launched after thieves raid Renfrew food bank

A food bank in Renfrew has been broken into and raided by thieves.

The incident occurred between 6.30pm on Wednesday and 8am on Thursday at the premises on Porterfield Road.

The culprits broke into the building with goods and petty cash stolen.

Police Scotland have urged anyone with information about the incident or who saw anyone acting suspicious around the time of the break in to come forward.

The food bank relies on funding to help the community and offer meals to hungry families struggling to make ends meet.

Anyone able to help is asked to call police on 1010 or, to remain anonymous, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 0667 10/10.
