Appeal launched after seven pigeons found dumped in cardboard box beside A82

The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after seven pigeons were found dumped in a cardboard box.

The birds were discovered in a layby on the A82 by a member of the public.

Scotland’s animal welfare charity say five were found in a poor condition and did not survive.

The remaining two are being cared for at the charity's centre in Dumbarton.

Scottish SPCA centre manager Judy Button, said, “The seven pigeons were found by a member of the public in a cardboard box in a lay-by on the A82 on March 24.

“They were found in poor condition and unfortunately five passed away.

“They were not ringed and the remaining two are in our care here at the centre.

“We’re keen to find out how these pigeons ended up in the area in this condition.

“If anyone recognises these pigeons or has any information on this incident they can contact our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
