Appeal launched after car deliberately set on fire in Glenboig area

An appeal has been launched after a car was deliberately set on fire in the Glenboig area.

Police Scotland have launched an investigation after the incident, which occurred at about 10pm on Sunday, November 17.

A black Mercedes A Class was parked on Gaynes Drive when it was set alight, causing around £15,000 worth of damage.

The suspect ran from the scene in the direction of Marnoch Drive. He is described as a man with short hair, who was wearing dark clothing. He may have suffered burn injuries.

Officers are calling for anyone who may have noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time of incident to get in touch. They are also asking locals to check for any dashcam or CCTV footage.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 101, quoting reference number 3877 of Sunday, 17 November, 2019. Alternatively, you can contact the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.
