Appeal for woman subjected to 'concerning incident' in Belfast to come forward

Police have made a direct appeal for a woman to make contact with them.

It follows a report that two people were approached by a woman near Ormeau Park in the early hours of Sunday morning who disclosed she had been subjected to a concerning incident.

A male suspect was arrested by police a short time later however the woman had left the scene prior to the PSNI's arrival.

Detective Chief Inspector Heather Campbell said: "I am appealing to this woman to come forward and speak with us so we can fully understand what has taken place and provide her with whatever support she needs.

"We would also like to speak to other people who may have been in the Ormeau Road/Ormeau Park area between 2.30am and 4am this morning.

"Detectives can be contacted by calling 101, quoting reference 480 14/08/20.Information can also be provided online using the non-emergency reporting form at www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/ or via the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or at www.crimestoppers-uk.org/."
