Appeal for witnesses after vile thieves rob Dumbarton family days before Christmas

Police are appealing for witnesses after vile thieves robbed a Dumbarton family just days before Christmas.

Robbers struck at a property in Whiteford Place between 5.30pm and 6.50pm on Thursday evening (December 19).

They made off with a three figure sum of cash, a quantity of gift vouchers and electronic equipment.

Community Policing Inspector Mo Boyle said: “Crimes such as this where someone has been in your home can have a very negative effect on those involved and we are keen to trace the person or persons responsible as quickly as possible. To have this happen so close to Christmas is particularly upsetting.

“We are carrying out enquiries to trace those responsible and I would urge anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area, or anyone who has been offered items for sale to get in touch.”

Anyone with any information which can help this inquiry is asked to contact police in Dumbarton on 101 quoting incident number 3317 of December 19.

Alternatively if you wish to give information anonymously, please contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
