Appeal for witnesses after boy, 15, suffers knife injuries in Newton Mearns brawl

A teenage boy was rushed to hospital last night after being injured in a large-scale brawl in Newton Mearns.

As reported on Glasgow Live earlier today, Boy, 15, suffers knife injuries amid reports of large-scale brawl in Newton Mearns field 7.30pm (Saturday, April 13).

They had received reports of a disturbance near Waterfoot Road involving a group of youngsters.

The 15-year-old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and later released.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “At around 7.30pm of Saturday, April 13 the police were called to reports that a 15-year-old boy was injured at Waterfoot Road in Glasgow following a disturbance.

"The boy was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and treated for his injuries. He has since been released."

Inquiries are ongoing.

Anyone who has information on the incident has been asked to to contact police on 101, quoting incident reference number 4032 on Saturday 13 April 2019.
