Appeal for witnesses after body of man pulled from River Clyde

Police are appealing for witnesses to the death of a man in the River Clyde today.

As Glasgow Live, the body of the unidentified man was pulled from the water after he was seen falling from the Erskine Bridge .

Emergency services rushed to the scene at about 11am today (Monday) with police closing the bridge in both directions.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Detective Inspector Ogilvie Ross of Clydebank Police Station, is appealing for any witnesses.

He said: “Our enquiries are continuing into the full circumstances surrounding this incident and we are appealing to any witnesses to come forward to ensure we gather as much information as we can."
