Appeal for robbery victim to come forward after cyclist threatened in Nottinghamshire

Police are appealing for a cyclist who may have been the victim of a robbery to come forward. It was reported by a member of the public that a man was stopped by two men wearing face coverings who then threatened him in Main Street, Awsworth.

The incident occurred at around 10.15pm yesterday (Tuesday, March 29). The victim had left the area by the time officers attended the scene.

Enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident are continuing. It is believed the suspects were both wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.

Police are now appealing for anybody with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Charlotte Henson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “It is very important we speak to the victim so we can take a full account from him as we continue to investigate what happened.

“I would urge him to get in touch with us as soon as possible. We would also like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this robbery and may have any information which could help us with our enquiries.

“We are pursuing lines of enquiry, including checking CCTV footage and house-to-house enquiries, to understand what happened and we are urging anyone who has any information, including anyone who may have captured dash-cam or mobile phone footage, to please get in contact with us.”
