Appeal for owners after parrot found in East Belfast

A pet parrot that has flown the coop has landed safely with an animal welfare group in Co Down.

The little African Grey was discovered in the Castlereagh area of east Belfast on Saturday, January 9 but to date no one has come forward to claim it.

A spokesperson for Lost and Found Pets North Down, said: "We'd like to get this little bird home - such a lovely character and has been well cared for.

The African grey parrot is safe but needs to be reunited with its family (Lost and Found Pets North Down)

"There has a ring on its leg with an ID number so we're looking to match this number with the owner.

"In the meantime it's being looked after and seems content. The owner will need to give us a note of the parrot's leg ring number so we know we're handing the bird over to the right person."

Do you know who the African Grey parrot belongs to? You can PM Lost and Found Pets North Down by clicking here or send your ring number to 07414 061455.
