Appeal for dash cam footage after man seriously injured in Cheshire crash

A 61-year-old pedestrian has been seriously hurt in a crash in Macclesfield and police are appealing for witnesses with dash cam footage.

The incident happened last month, on October 16, when a red Volvo was in collision with a man on Hurdsfield Road, near to the junction of Hulley Road, at around 07.30am.

The injured man, who has not been identified, was taken to Salford Royal Hospital with serious injuries, but has been discharged from hospital and is recovering at home.

Cheshire Police said enquiries in relation to the incident are "ongoing" and no arrests have been made.

Police Constable Eoin Anderson, of Cheshire Constabulary’s Roads and Crime Unit, said: "Hurdsfield Road is a busy road and at the time of the incident there would have been a number people in the area, both commuting to work and walking to school, who may have seen what happened and I’d urge them to get in touch.

"The same goes for anyone who was driving in the area and believes they have any dash cam footage which may be relevant to the investigation."

Anyone with information should call 101, quoting IML 540247, give the details here or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
