Appeal after woman 'pinned up against vehicle by neck'

Police are investigating an alleged assault in which a woman was 'pinned up against a vehicle by the neck' in East Belfast.

Officers in Strandtown say the incident took place on the Holywood Road at around 2.30pm on Sunday, April 12.

Belfast Live reports that a spokesperson for PSNI East Belfast posted on Facebook: "During the incident, which took place near Circular Road, a female was pinned up against a vehicle by the neck by a male who is believed to have left the area in a silver Lexus car.

"A passer-by had stopped to help however they left before police arrived and it has not been possible to identify them since.

"Can I ask that if you were the person that intervened or if you witnessed this incident can you please get in touch using our non-emergency number 101 and quote police reference number 2592 of 12th April 2020. Thank you."
