Appeal after two members of staff racially abused by man at Victoria Station

Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to after staff were racially abused at Victoria Station.

One member of rail staff was subjected to 'multiple racial slurs' while a Travel Safe officer was threatened and told to 'go back to his own country'.

British Transport Police believe the man in the photo could have information which could help with their investigation.

Officers said a man, who appeared drunk, was trying to buy a ticket at the barrier line of the station just before 11pm on November 4.

It was at that point that he became racially abusive to a member of rail staff.

Travel Safe officers rushed to the scene to escort him out of the station.

He then became racially abusive towards the officers, and threatened to 'knock one of them out'.

The man also told him to go back to his own country.

Anyone who recognises the man pictured or has information which could help with their investigation is asked to contact British Transport Police.

Reports can be made by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 627 of November 4.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
