Appeal after teenager violently assaulted on Balloch train

Police have launched an appeal after two men assaulted a teenager on a train bound for Balloch, before fleeing at a Dumbarton station.

The violent attack took place at around 3.30pm on Wednesday October 6, after the victim boarded the train at Singer railway station.

During the journey he was approached by two unknown men – one repeatedly punched and kicked him while the other man filmed the assault.

The two men then ran off the train at Dumbarton Central station.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to assist their enquiries, and they are especially keen to hear from two women who comforted the victim immediately after the attack.

Witnesses, or anyone with information, can contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 432 of 06/10/21.

Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
