Apparently MAFS Is Bringing Back Ex-Stars For 2027, Peep The List Of Who They’re Chatting To

Married At First Sight (MAFS) is preparing one of its biggest twists ever for the upcoming 14th season — and no, it’s not the all-stars season fans have been demanding for years (or the UK/Australia spin-off series).

Instead, insiders have told PEDESTRIAN.TV that producers are quietly planning to bring back “one or two” former brides and grooms to take part in the next season of the hit reality juggernaut. According to well-placed sources, secret meetings with former participants have already begun across the country.

“Producers are absolutely speaking to returning participants right now,” one insider claimed. “But the clever part is most of them think they’re the only former contestant being approached.”

P.TV understands that the network is specifically searching for “big personalities” capable of creating drama and conversation, without pushing the show into the darker territory that sparked backlash this year.

“There’s a feeling the show became too nasty,” the source explained. “The audience still wants chaos and explosive dinner parties, but they also want contestants they enjoy watching.”

Who is expected to return for MAFS 2027?

Insiders say producers are actively targeting former “love-to-hate” contestants who created iconic television moments during their original seasons.

Among the former stars believed to be on the producers’ radar are Domenica CalarcoInes BasicLucinda Light and Jessika Power.

“They want loud names, but they also want people viewers secretly root for,” the insider said. “There’s enormous interest in contestants who already know how the machine works. Producers know returning participants understand how to make television.”

According to insiders, the network believes viewers would become emotionally invested in watching familiar faces attempt to find love again after public heartbreak.

“The pitch internally is: ‘Why didn’t it work the first time, and why could it work now?’,” the source continued. “It instantly gives audiences a deeper emotional connection because they already know these people.”

Viewers will still have new faces to invest in, as a majority of the cast are first-time brides and grooms; however, the idea is that the familiar faces will draw back some fans who may have switched off last season.

P.TV has heard that producers are especially interested in contestants whose original relationships collapsed because of timing, immaturity or cast drama rather than a complete lack of chemistry.

“They’re looking for redemption arcs,” the source said. “People who audiences think deserve another chance.”

Why aren’t they just doing a full-scale all-stars series?

Although Channel Nine has reportedly discussed the idea of a full-scale all-stars season in the past, insiders have claimed that executives now believe bringing back only one or two familiar faces each year may be the smarter long-term strategy.

“A full all-stars cast could become too self-aware and chaotic,” the insider explained. “But sprinkling in returning brides or grooms keeps the format fresh while still creating huge buzz.”

The move also reportedly reflects growing concern from producers about maintaining audience loyalty as reality TV viewers become increasingly difficult to shock.

“There’s pressure on every reality show right now to evolve,” they continued. “And producers think returning participants could completely change the dynamic inside the experiment.”

One thing insiders insist on? Whoever returns will not be boring.

“Nobody’s coming back quietly,” the source added. “And that’s exactly what producers are hoping for.”

BRB, I need to write a list of all the MAFS participants I need to see back on my screen.
