Apparently A Whole Bunch Of Reality Star Kids Have Been Approached For Next Gen LA

Just when you thought reality TV’s obsession with famous surnames couldn’t get any deeper, in waltzes a fresh batch of speculation for season two of Next Gen — this time, potentially moving the chaos from NYC to LA. But who exactly is in the mix and why is everyone suddenly obsessed with “the kids of”? Buckle up, because the rumour mill is juicyyyy.

In case you missed it: Next Gen is Bravo’s new reality series following the grown-up kids of reality stars (think Gia Giudice, Riley Burruss, Brooks Marks and a handful of influencer types) as they try to navigate adulthood — complete with group chats and a healthy dose of drama. The first season did massive numbers, especially in my home, and also pulling in more than 5.4 million viewers after premiering in June, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

What’s this about Next Gen: LA?

Naturally, because ratings = gold, there’s big chatter about a Los Angeles spin-off, but nothing’s actually official. According to TMZ and a mushrooming number of pop culture fan accounts, the production company is poking around the Beverly Hills postcode, seeing which celeb spawn might want to sign on for Next Gen LA. So far: not greenlit, not even pitched to Bravo, but heaps of group chats have definitely been started.

Who’s actually involved in Next Gen: LA?

This is where things get peak reality TV — lots of “sources say” and very few contracts signed. Alabama and Landon Barker (Travis Barker’s kids, for anyone who touches more grass than me) were reportedly approached but told TMZ it’s a hard no — they’re not joining, and you can stop checking their Insta bios.

It seems to be the same for former Disney star Skai Jackson — production sources told TMZ she was never even asked, despite what TikTok whispers say.

So who is rumoured? The names floating around are a who’s who of ‘my mum threw a glass of wine on TV once’ energy:

  • Sophia UmanskyRHOBH’s Kyle Richards’ daughter, and seen on Buying Beverly Hills
  • Sami Sheen: Daughter of Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen (the headlines write themselves)
  • Amelia HamlinLisa Rinna’s model daughter, she’s done plenty of high-profile runway walking
  • Maloof sons: Yep, Adrienne’s triple-threat (Gavin, Christian, Colin)
  • Noelle RobinsonCynthia Bailey’s daughter, for the ATL connection
  • Nick Dubrow: Son of Heather Dubrow from RHOC
  • Nia Soux: My Dance Mums alum queen. Imagine if she brought on JoJo Siwa as a friend of!

And, just to add fuel, RHOC’s Shannon Beador’s hairstylist lobbed an Instagram of Sophie Beador with the hashtag #NextGen, which US Weekly was quick to weave into yet another potential-cast yarn.

Next Gen indeed!! (Image: Instagram)

But is any of this real?

Short answer: not formally. No one’s started filming, Bravo hasn’t handed over any contracts, so basically, it’s a load of industry window-shopping… but it’s important to dream big!!
