What’s Going To Happen
If there’s one team that can rise up and shock a rock-solid Appalachian State team, it’s this ULM squad with the big offense and just enough playmaking ability to be a problem.
The Warhawks have a whole slew of problems – almost all of the defensive side – but the offensive line is playing well, there aren’t a ton of turnovers, and the explosiveness is there to keep up the pace. Or, at least, put a dent into the Mountaineers.
Appalachian State hasn’t played the same game twice over the last few weeks, winning defensive against Louisiana, getting into shootouts with Charlotte and Coastal Carolina, and wining in a thriller over North Carolina.
The Mountaineers lead the nation with the fewest giveaways – just two – and the offense continues to be an efficient machine that controls games without necessarily owning the clock.
The defensive front will get to Caleb Evans enough to keep the do-it-all star quarterback from taking off, and the ASU offense will methodically keep piling on the points for a full 60 minutes.
