App store down: Users unable to connect to app store on Apple iPhone, iPad and Mac

Hundreds of Apple users have reported experiencing problems with accessing the App store on their mobile and tablet devices.

The App store is home to a variety of games, programmes and social media applications which users can typically download at the touch of a button.

However, some users have claimed they are not able to connect to the app store as normal on their iPhones, iPads and Macs.

Since the problems started this afternoon, users have been taking to Twitter to express their frustrations.

One user wrote: “I can’t connect to App Store! Anyone else having this problem?”

“What’s wrong with my App Store, it’s been like this all morning @Apple #appstore,” another user posted.

According to data collected from independent outage monitor Downdetector, 480 reports were filed at one time from users this afternoon who asserted that the app store was not working as it should be.

The tech giant has said it is “investigating” the matter and “will update the status as more information becomes available."

Apple also confirmed that Apple Music is also experiencing an outage.

The problems come after Apple recently resolved an extensive blackout affecting its cloud-based services, including iCloud Drive, Photos and iMessage.
