App hack that means families can get up to half price off meals out in Manchester over the summer holidays

Eating out with the kids over the summer can prove costly, but families looking to dine out over the six-week could save a fortune with a handy free trial of a money saving subscription.

Particularly good for people who go out for food quite frequently, Tastecard is an app which allows customers to get half price or 2-4-1 offers and dozens of restaurants in Manchester and the rest of the UK.

A subscription usually costs £4.99 a month, but new customers can sign up for a 30 day free trial in order to cop huge savings on their bill throughout August.

But there’s a way you can double your free trial to enjoy cheap eats until mid-September, too. Those who sign up to a free trial for the annual subscription will get a 60 day free trial, so they can enjoy the perks of the app for longer.

This then renews at a cost of £35.88 yearly, equal to £2.99 per month, or can be cancelled if you don’t think you’ll use it quite as often.

The offer means that families - as well as couples, or groups of friends - can benefit from two for one, or half off meals at a number of big-name restaurants like Zizzi and Pizza Hut.

They can also get 50 per cent off pizza delivery at retailers like Papa John’s and Dominos, and 10 per cent off takeaway delivery and collections elsewhere.

If you love a movie night during the summer, customers can cop up to 40 per cent off cinema tickets. Not only that, but families can get up to half price on tickets to particular attractions on the app, including Legoland and Alton Towers.

Tastecard holders also have access to exclusive deals on other brands, too, including tech, travel, fashion and fitness - but you have to be a member to see which brands are included.

The digital only membership usually costs £4.99 a month, or £35.88 a year, and those who sign up will need to cancel their membership before the trial runs out if they don’t wish to continue with the subscription.

There are more than 2.4 million subscribers to the digital service, according to Tastecard, with the average saving being £18.88 per meal - which adds up to £226.56 a year, if you dine out once a month.
