Apocalypse Bow Wow by James Proimos III - review

James Proimos III, Apocalypse Bow Wow

This amazing book was filled with adventure, cartoons and, most of all, lots of comedy. The humour made me laugh out loud more than once. It starts with clothes lines on fire. the people are gone! But two dogs haven't noticed: brownie, a hungry dog who likes nothing more than food and Apollo, a dog who has a very small height.

When they finally notice the people have gone, the dogs manage to escape by Brownie licking the doorknob and after a mysterious event they escape via the window. What is their first priority? Food of course! After meeting a cop dog, they head to the supermarket and with an unlikely band of friends they defend it with their lives (or maybe just their stomachs).

This was an exciting, gripping tale full of slapstick comedy with hilarious illustrations moving the story along. I loved its funny events which led to some interesting activities.

I would recommend this book for 7+ as the simple but funny plot makes it a easy read for adults and kids alike.
