Apex Legends servers hacked by people complaining about Titanfall hackers

Apex Legends playlists were hacked across all consoles over the weekend by an unknown perpetrator looking to "save Titanfall", another Respawn Entertainment title.

The hackers replaced official messages in Apex Legends with an 'important message'. Upon entering the website, players were greeted with the message 'Let's save Titanfall'.

Text under the message then complained about hackers they claimed were affecting Titanfall.

Respawn stated they were aware of issues affecting Apex Legend's servers.

They wrote via Twitter: "We’re testing a fix now and will update when we have more confidence. Additional updates may be required. "In the meantime, we’ve determined that this attack—while disruptive—has not put players’ personal information or accounts at risk. "More updates to come as we make progress."

They later added: "We’ve published a server update targeted at solving the matchmaking issue and are cautiously optimistic as we wait for the update to reach all servers (this typically takes hours)."

Shortly after, Respawn claimed the issue was resolved and matchmaking was restored.
