Apex Legends Season 30 updates: Bloodhound gets rework, Rampart and Loba receive buffs

One of Apex Legends’ oldest Legends is getting a rework as the game enters its 30th season. Bloodhound, one of the first six Legends available on day one, has a new, refined set of abilities including an entirely new ultimate to help them keep up with the faster pace of modern Apex.

Two other Legends–Loba and Rampart–are also receiving small changes in Season 30 of Apex Legends to help them keep up with newer Legends like Sparrow and Axle.

Here’s everything changing for Bloodhound, Loba, and Rampart next season (as well as updates to looting and weapon attachments).

Bloodhound gets a well-deserved update

Everything about Bloodhound’s kit is being tweaked, though the core identity of their abilities is staying the same. Bloodhound is still first and foremost a tracker who hunts down enemies through scans and hints from ravens, but now with some changes to keep up with the quickening pace of Apex Legends.

To start, Bloodhound’s passive has been upgraded from simply showing marks of enemy movements to showing a much clearer glowing trail. The White Ravens that lead Bloodhound to nearby enemies will now fly much further and no longer need a scan or physical interaction, as a simple look will set them in motion.

The tactical, Bloodhound’s iconic scan that highlights and tracks nearby enemies, will now include longer full-body scans with follow-up snapshot scans to keep enemies tracked over a longer period. This upgrade will make it much more difficult for prey to shake a Bloodhound squad on the hunt, especially lone rats.

Finally, Bloodhound’s ultimate is receiving the biggest change. Bloodhound will now have the Allfather’s Cloak, an ultimate that cloaks any teammates in its range, granting them increased speed and threat vision. Leaving the area will allow allies to stay cloaked longer, but taking any damage or using a weapon will remove the effect. While the old ultimate, Beast of the Hunt, put Bloodhound into a solo hunting frenzy, the new ultimate gives more of a team advantage.

Loba and Rampart pick up the pace

Alongside Bloodhound’s more major overhaul, Loba and Rampart are also receiving some small but mighty changes to their abilities. The major theme of both Legend’s changes is speed, as it’s undeniable that Apex Legends is getting faster and older Legends need to keep up with new, popular Legends.

For Loba, this speed comes with a shorter cooldown for her ultimate ability, allowing her and her team to access loot more frequently (which should make her a powerful ally with the new loot overhaul). On top of an improved ultimate, Loba’s tactical now flies further and faster, giving her more opportunity to maneuver around the battlefield.

Rampart has sped up too, with faster movement while using her ultimate (the oppressive minigun Sheila) giving her more mobility in crucial moments. Her tactical, Amped Cover, will now deploy faster and take more damage, which means Rampart can now hold space with lethal efficiency to back up her squad.

With faster movement and abilities being added every season, the pace of Apex Legends shows no signs of slowing down. At the very least, it’s good to see that the movement creep isn’t leaving older Legends behind in the meta.
