Olympus returns to the map rotation with a massive overhaul. It now has new Points of Interest—Somers University, Gravity Engine, Stabilizer, and Dockyard.

Somers University replaces Orbital Cannon with towering structures, open lifts, and a tribute to Horizon’s son, Newton. Gravity Engine now powers the heart of Olympus, replacing Energy Depot with high-vertical engagements and zip rails lacing through the area.

The new Stabilizer platform floats in the sky, keeping Olympus aligned while offering creative fights on fragmented rocks. Down near Hydroponics, the Dockyard mixes familiar terrain with renovated vertical opportunities for intense skirmishes.

Much of Olympus has been reshaped to smooth out gameplay. Long open fields have been reduced, and cover in risky choke points has been increased.

Valkyrie

In season 27, Valkyrie’s jetpack has been supercharged. She now launches faster and flies further. Rampart’s tactical fortifications get an upgrade, which now feature roofed Amped Walls for full bunker setups.

When it comes to her Cooldown, the recharge delay is significantly reduced from eight seconds to 2.5 seconds. Recharge time was significantly reduced from approximately 10.9 seconds to three seconds. Fuel doesn’t start recharging until you touch ground, and EMP effects drain jetpack fuel.

Her horizontal fly speed and strafe amount significantly increased. Vertical fly speed increased. Additional vertical speed when flying straight up, reduced initial speed boost for the first 0.5 seconds, which is now about five percent slower. Total fuel reduced from eight to six seconds, and initial fuel consumption slightly increased.

Her Missile Swarm’s self-damage and stun effect have been removed, and added a 1.5-second full-body scan on hit. Tac damage now puts movement passives on cooldown. The ability also has reduced cooldown time from 30 seconds to 25 seconds, removed vertical clearance firing restriction, improved missile pathing to work better in low clearance situations, and increased max range from about 100m to 125m.

Launch height of Skyward Dive increased by 15 percent, reduced cooldown from three minutes to two and a half minutes, and reduced the delay before takeoff from 2 to 1.5 seconds. Also, it slightly reduced time, slowly rising before takeoff from 1.83 seconds to 1.33 seconds, removed self-cancel cooldown penalty, and reduced damage cooldown penalty from 54 seconds to 30 seconds.

Skydive tactical can be fired when skydiving, except from the drop ship, and land faster when skydiving, ultimately spending less time while slowly falling near the ground.

Rampart

Battle Modder now has additional effects to the old passive, Modded Loader, which now covers walls, and permanently gains health as Rampart gains Evo Levels.

Coming to her Amped Cover, it now adds an amped shield roof to the wall, which can now be charged by doing damage through the amped shield or by having the wall be damaged by enemies. Wall charge is converted to a speed boost by going over the wall, and can store up to 300 damage, which results in a 15-second speed boost at full charge.

Speed boost time scales linearly with stored charge. Wall charge is only usable by teammates, and each teammate can use the stored charge individually. A speed boost is automatically given to nearby teammates when the wall is destroyed. Damage to the wall is stored at 25 percent, while damage through the amped shield is stored at 100 percent.

  • Wall health increases by 200 per Evo level (400 to 800 at max level)
  • Shield health increased by 25 per Evo level (175 to 225 at max level)
  • Health while wall building reduced (120 to 100)
  • Amped shield arc star damage multiplier removed (1.5x to 1.0x)
  • Wall frag grenade damage multiplier increased (1.0x to 2.0x)

Horizon

Horizon’s lift speed of her Gravity Lift increased from 300 to 375, while also increasing hover time at the top of the lift from 0.5 seconds to 1.5 seconds. Also, cooldown has been reduced from 25 seconds to 20 seconds, the delay cooldown from 10 to two seconds, and effectively reduced the cooldown from 35 seconds to 22 seconds.

Her Black Hole cooldown is reduced by 30 seconds, and its health is increased from 175 to 225.

Revenant

Revenant has been slightly nerfed. The maximum possible velocity of his Shadow Pounce has been reduced.

Double Tap Alternator

The Alternator has a Double Tap Hop-Up attachment that can transform the SMG into a devastating short-range monster.

Each trigger pull fires both barrels in blistering sync, instantly upping your time-to-kill during close encounters. If you play fast and live for high-risk rushes, this weapon’s the new favorite in your loadout.

Other weapon balancing changes

The weapon lineup in Care Packages sees some big changes this season. The Triple Take returns to floor loot, while the C.A.R. SMG joins the Care Package pool, now with a unique Galvanic Gavel Hop-Up that lets you switch between Disruptor and Hammerpoint Rounds for flexible combat tactics.

Marksman rifles are nerfed to projectile size and headshot multipliers to tone down mid-to-long-range gunfights. The Peacekeeper shotgun receives damage and handling tweaks to balance its care package power. Other weapons, including the Volt SMG and Triple Take, have been adjusted for better consistency and pacing in firefights. This season’s weapon tuning encourages diverse playstyles and strategic gun choice.

Mantle Boost movement mastery

The movement meta evolves once again with the addition of Mantle Boost, a new traversal mechanic that rewards precise timing and positioning.

You can activate it when climbing walls or ledges to launch yourself forward, gaining explosive entry angles or escapes. There will be a visual indicator to nail the timing.

Balanced drop zone loot in Ranked

Ranked play gets a crucial adjustment this season. After extensive community feedback, loot balance across fixed drop zones has been normalized.

No matter where your team spawns, you’ll find fairer quality loot pools that make every match start more consistently. Hardcore grinders will appreciate that variance still exists for spontaneity’s sake, but the extremes have been toned down to ensure every zone feels worthy of contention.

Trident tune-ups

The Trident receives a complete handling overhaul with smoother control, enhanced boost response, and the ability to glide over rough terrain. Players can now deal low-impact ramming damage when colliding with opponents, and each Trident has its own dedicated health pool.

This means your vehicle can be destroyed without splitting damage between riders, and you can now pick off enemies directly from their Trident mid-battle.

Season 27 also introduces new Amped Launch Challenges available for only the first two weeks. Complete them to unlock Amped Seasonal Packs, test the new Wishlist system, and chase the Mythic “Bird of Prey” R-99 skin.

Bug fixes and quality-of-life updates

Wildcard gameplay, with its unpredictable modifiers like Drone Support and Speedy Charge, is now permanent. Some Wild Cards have been tuned down to reduce player frustration, like lowered shield recharge while sprinting, and adjusted speed boosts on wall running. The season also sees the return of the Gold 1x Digital Threat sight, boosting SMG, shotgun, and pistol options.

New social features now make it easier to keep playing with good teammates. “Requeue with Squad” lets players stick together in back-to-back matches without leaving the queue. Cosmetic preview screens get interface improvements, while voice chat benefits from an added microphone toggle.

PC players on integrated graphics and handheld devices will enjoy faster loading times and enhanced UI options designed for smaller screens. For more details about the new update, you can check Respawn’s official patch notes post.
