Apex Legends: Respawn teases return of fan-favourite Skull Town

Respawn Entertainment has teased on Twitter that they intend to bring back the iconic Skull Town location for their King's Landing map after it was removed in Season 5.

The lightly-veiled mysterious tweet from the Apex Legends official Twitter simply asks: 'What if we brought back Skull Town' which soon went viral and sent fans into a frenzy.

Ryan Rigney, Respawn director of communication, shared the tweet and confirmed patch notes will be coming on Thursday. It is expected Skull Town will return with an in-game event to go alongside it.

Skull Town was a long-time fan-favourite location renowned among players for being a busy area for the bravest players. It was removed in-game to introduce Loba, the newest character at the time and to make way for Season 5, Fortune's Favour.

Four seasons later and a bunch of new content added to the game means that the return of Skull Town could add plenty of new strategic advantages for players eager to enter the town again.

This comes shortly after Apex Legends' developers confirmed that another fan-favourite location, Mirage's Voyage, won't make a return, much to the dismay of many fans.

The confirmation came from Daniel Klein, Respawn's lead game designer, via reddit after he posted: 'Oh the voyage is CRASHED crashed. I think it's down for good.'

More information regarding Skull Town will be released alongside the mid-season patch notes due for release June 24.
