Apartment burglaries reported in Chatham: police

Chicago police are warning Chatham residents about a series of residential burglaries reported recently in the South Side neighborhood.

In each incident, someone broke into the apartment through a window or back door and stole property including electronics, jewelry, wallets and purses, among other items, Chicago police said.

The burglaries happened at all hours of the day between Jan. 13 and Feb. 10 in:

  • The 8000 block of South Ellis Avenue;
  • The 8200 block of South Maryland Avenue;
  • The 700 block of East 81st Street;
  • The 7900 block of South Dobson Avenue;
  • The 8100 block of South Drexel Avenue;
  • The 900 block of East 80th Street; and
  • The 8100 block of South Ellis Avenue.

Police did not provide a description of any suspects.
