Apartment burglaries reported in Chatham

Police are warning South Side residents of multiple apartment burglaries last month in Chatham.

In each case, someone broke in through the front door or side window, Chicago police said in a community alert.

The burglaries happened:

  • About 8 a.m. June 14 in the 8000 block of South Drexel Avenue;
  • About 2:09 a.m. June 18 in the 700 block of East 79th Street;
  • About 4:48 p.m. June 23 in the 8000 block of South Ellis Avenue;
  • Between 2 p.m. June 24 and 2 p.m. June 25 in the 8000 block of South Drexel Avenue;
  • Between noon and 5:30 p.m. June 25 in the 8300 block of South Ingleside Avenue;
  • About 1:07 p.m. June 28 in the 8000 block of South Maryland Avenue and
  • About 8:48 p.m. June 29 in the 7900 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to call Area Two detectives at 312-747-8273.
