AP high court issues non-bailable warrants against IAS officers

VIJAYAWADA: The AP high court on Friday issued non-bailable warrants (NBWs) against two senior IAS officers and directed the Guntur SP to produce both officers before the court by arresting them.

Expressing displeasure over special chief secretary for BC welfare G Anantaramu, and principal secretary for panchayatraj Gopalakrsihna Dwivedi, for not appearing before the court even after serving of notices, Justice Battu Devanand issued orders for their arrest for not complying with the court’s orders.

The high court had earlier ordered for their personal appearance in a contempt petition filed by M Shankaracharyulu, a retired assistant engineer.

Shankaracharyulu first moved the high court seeking directions for payment of his retirement benefits.

Despite the court directing officials to immediately pay him his retirement benefits, officials did not comply with the order, , following which he moved a contempt petition.
