Airports of Thailand Plc (AoT) is set to conclude the terms of reference (ToR) for Suvarnabhumi airport's duty-free and commercial-zone concession contracts by the end of October, it said yesterday.
This marks another delay for the unveiling after the authority recently gave this month as the deadline.
AoT president Nitinai Sirismatthakarn said the terms are still under review by the AoT board.
"It will take as long as it takes as the details must be thoroughly checked," he said. "The main goal is transparency in the auction."
Suvarnabhumi's duty-free zone contract, currently held by King Power International Group, is set to expire in September 2020.
However, AoT announced earlier it would release the ToR for the new concession contracts at least two years before they expire, so bidders have enough time to prepare an offer.
Korea's Lotte Duty Free, which operates a duty-free zone at the Show DC mall in Bangkok, and Bangkok Airways have also expressed interest in bidding for the duty-free zone at the airport.
