Anyone named Keith can get a free dram of Glen Keith whisky this weekend

Any whisky fans named Keith are in for a treat this weekend after a distillery in a Speyside town with the same name, announced it will be offering them a free dram when they visit.

Strathisla Distillery in Keith made the announcement on their Facebook page.

The team at the home of Chivas, which has operated at the heart of the town for over 200 years, said they had good news for anyone with the name who were hoping to drop into their distillery shop.

They wrote: "You’ll be pleased to know that Keith is very important to us. Keith is our community, our hame toon.

"IDs at the ready. Any Keith dropping into the shop this weekend will get a sample of Glen Keith single malt. Share this with your favourite Keith!"

When one fan jokingly asked if middle names count, the distillery responded: "As long as it’s on your ID."

While another joked: "Just away to change my name to Keith."

The famous whisky town recently hit the headlines after a contestant on the Chase got its name hilariously wrong.

When asked by Bradley Walsh on the ITV hit earlier this week to choose between three options, Oli confidentially answered – only to get it spectacularly wrong.
