'Anyone fancy a swim?' - Queen's Drive Park and Ride to remain closed due to flooding

Nottingham City Council has announced the Queens Drive Park and Ride site will remain closed on Tuesday, February 18.

Alongside pictures showing a heavily flooded car park, Transport Nottingham posted a tweet saying: "Due to flooding as a result of Storm Dennis Queens Drive Park & Ride will remain closed tomorrow. Anyone fancy a swim?"

Following Storm Dennis at the weekend, the park and ride site was closed on Monday (February 17).

A spokesman for Nottingham City Transport (NCT) previously said: "Navy 49 will operate to/from Boots Site as normal."

An alternative Park and Ride is available at Racecourse Park and Rise site at NG2 4BE.‬

There are more than 20 flood warnings in place across  Nottinghamshire, as well as 11 flood alerts with communities along the  River Trent most at risk of being affected.

Flood warnings mean flooding is expected and immediate action is required. A flood alert means flooding is possible.
