Anyone But Ivy Pocket by Caleb Krisp – review

When Ivy Pocket, a 12-year-old lady’s maid, is asked to deliver the mysterious Clock Diamond (a priceless jewel) she falls into an adventure. Ivy embarks on a journey through which she meets many people, and some ghosts along the way! Will the unique necklace end up around Matilda Butterfield’s neck as Ivy has promised or will it be stolen before she can complete her mission?

This book is very cleverly written with lots of surprises and unexpected twists. It’s so good that as soon as I finished it, I started it again. You really can’t put this book down!

I like Ivy a lot because she is very rude and cheeky and always says funny things in frightening situations.

In some places it’s quite scary, but it also made me laugh hysterically. I annoyed my family by reading the best bits out because they were so good!

Anyone but Ivy Pocket

Ivy has two main catchphrases; she calls people ‘dear’ even when they’re much older than her and she keeps saying that she has ‘the natural instincts of’ and then says different things each time.

The other characters are not like people in real life because they are very weird and funny.

This is one of the best books I’ve ever read! I was really excited when I got to the end and saw that there will be another Ivy Pocket book coming out in May, called Somebody Stop Ivy Pocket– even the title is really good!
